Today is a big day for Microsoft with its brand new Windows 10 release. Microsoft skipped the version number 9 completely to demonstrate that this version is going to be something special. Windows 10 makes a transition from a version number based licensing to a subscription based scheme. That means users will always get the latest version via Windows Updates, as long as they have a valid license. But not only customers who buy Windows 10 will be affected by this transition. Microsoft will roll out the new version via online updates on all Windows 7 and 8 installations as well.

It’s safe to update

A number of modifications were required as anti-malware software naturally works very closely with the operating system core components to enable protection features. But today we can say with confidence that we can protect your computer well with Windows 10 too.

The latest version (10.0.0.5561 or higher) fully supports Windows 10. Online update to the new operating system works flawlessly as well. In addition to our own tests, AV-Comparatives also did a thorough test and confirmed full compatibility.
