We are very happy to announce that Version 5 of Emsisoft Anti-Malware has been released and out from beta. It is a major release in a lot of aspects, and specifically an overhaul of how malicious software is  detected and the experience of users in the process.

The detailed release changelog and information is here .

I will discuss some cool features in this writeup , along with the importance of this release. Emsisoft Anti-Malware 5 comes with Windows 7 support, but that’s not the end of it. We have been number 1 in detection rate , and we want to make sure the usage of our product also gives user less pain.

Once a scan is initiated, it is not needed to keep the anti-malware window open to know the progress of the scan. Anti-Malware 5 lets you know about the progress in the taskbar display even when the Anti-Malware window is minimized or not upfront. This is a minor feature which will come in as very useful to lots of users I am sure.

Another awesome feature in the new version is to have a smooth navigation to any other features using the Menu. As can be seen from the above picture, whether you are at the Scan PC section you can move to the other sections, by using the Floating Menu which seamlessly appears when the mouse is moved near the Menu at top left corner.

Next is a special feature implemented in this version, Whitelist. This feature allows the user to add a specific file, folder, process or even name which will be “whitelisted” or in plain terms, Emsisoft Anti-Malware will not touch the specific item. There are times, when a user does not want a certain file or folder to be scanned and this feature comes in rescue for those times.

And finally I will recommend every Anti-Malware user to join the Anti-Malware Network by which you will be a part of securing yourself and other users. Any malicious software detected or raised flag, getting information of such along with the submitted sample, we can raise our analysis level and also get information of new malware variants.

As mentioned above, more features and detailed announcement is present here . We are excited about this release and we are sure the reaction is same from your side.
